Past drop, MARTA riders and probable riders forged their votes for the exterior layout of the agency’s new railcars. The “Minimalist: Selection A” (pictured earlier mentioned) received by a slim margin.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Quick Transit Authority (MARTA) riders have spoken. The agency on Jan. 12 unveiled their exterior graphic-layout selection for the 254 Stadler quick transit cars that will start out arriving in 2023.
In the course of a month-extended campaign final slide, voters could find just one of 4 themed graphic options—“inspired by MARTA colors, and the dynamism and movement of trains”—on the agency’s web page or social media pages.
The “Minimalist: Solution A” structure (pictured higher than) received with 2,193 full votes, beating by a narrow margin “Flowing Ribbons: Possibility A,” which garnered 2,186 votes (underneath).

The most notable feature of the “Minimalist” design and style is on the entrance of the educate, MARTA reported, “where a lighted ‘smile’ denotes the colour of the respective rail line—Red, Gold, Green or Blue—so riders will know from a length that their prepare is approaching.”
MARTA’s three iconic colours “flow in a strip along the vehicles’ flanks, carrying your eye down the length of the train and highlighting the aerodynamic structure,” the agency extra.
Stadler landed the $646 million contract in 2019 and is slated to deliver all 254 vehicles by the end of 2028.
